Airboat tour: win! Plantations: lose!
, Jan 2022
Airboat tour: alligators in the bayou!! This part was great. The 2 plantation tours were disappointing. Lunch was ok, not great. Overpriced overall. I'd advise going on the airboat tour separately and doing the Houmas plantation if you're interested in a mansion. A long day, lots of driving.

I am so glad you found the Airboat ride was great and the gators were there for you! Combining the Airboat tour together with the Plantations actually does allow for less driving, and that is one of the great things about our Grand tour, it is also less expensive than doing these 2 activities separately. Thank you for your review.
Great tour

Steve our main bus tour guide with tours by Isabelle was great. Both plantation tours were excellent. The swamp tour was very interesting. Definitely a must tour when visiting New Orleans.
Small group airboat tour and plantation tour

For my husband and I, the airboat was definitely the highlight of the day. Our airboat driver and guide was very knowledgeable of the area and entertaining, I was sorry when it was over! After that we went back on the air conditioned bus to the Laura Plantation, was informative and interesting, then back on the bus to the Houmas Plantation, where a buffet lunch was included. Also an interesting and informative stop. Our tours by Isabel driver, Steve, was with us for the day. He was well informed and kept us comfortable. All in all, a great day, we recommend it!

This was an amazing experience. Well-planned and well-executed. Our tour guide for the day, Gisele was knowledgeable and enthusiastic, just like you want one to be.

The most memorable was swamp tour my husband enjoyed the most. It was interesting to know the history or the plantation tour
Gisele was amazing, and made the tour worth the time.

Did the airboat tour with two plantation visits, and enjoyed it very much. The airboat trip was nice, but was looking more for the grip your seat and hang on for dear life kind of ride. The water level was kinda low, and it was dang cold out, so I can understand why we weren’t going too fast, and stopping frequently to look at nothing. The Lara plantation was lack-luster in my opinion. Cool history with it though. The Houma house plants was amazing!! From the house to the grounds, to the trees, this place was what I had envisioned of an old plantation home. Our guide was Gisele, and this woman was a walking library of everything that had ever happened in this area!! Wow!!! This is one of the most knowledgeable Guides that I have ever met, and a funny sense of humor. She made the whole experience very enjoyable, and I would recommend asking for her personally, because it was very apparent that she loves the history of this city, and knows a whole lot about it all. A great guide!!
Enjoyable day with a fantastic guide

I was impressed with Isabelle's company from our first interaction. We were kept well informed through clear text messages. I was delighted that we could be picked up from our Airbnb. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Giselle. She is professional, knowledgable, and just plain delightful! The airboat ride was fun. Lindy at the Laura plantation gave an incredible tour. Lunch at Houmas House was delicious and plentiful. A fantastic day - highly recommend!

Gréât tour!! Highly recommend!

This was a very well planned, organized yet relaxing tour of the bayou and a couple of plantations. Our teenagers loved it too!
Two really good and one not good.

The Airboat was great the Laura plantation was really informative. The Houma House was just not as great. Would much prefer something else that is unique and more historic. I noticed a few “homages” to the confederacy and don’t feel it is appropriate. Had a few other complaints as well, too much for this review. Would not recommend the Haumahouse. The others, yes.

Thank you for your review Ms Andrea, I am so glad you thought the Airboat part of the tour was great and that Laura Plantation was good and informative as well. I am sorry you did not like Houmas House and found some of its artifacts and historical items offensive. We do tour several other unique historical plantations as well, such as Whitney Plantation and its Museum of Slavery, Felicity and St Joseph Plantations where "Twelve Years a Slave" was filmed. Please call us next time you are in NOLA as we'd love to have you on one of these tours next time. Isabelle C.
