Make your way to the Centro neighborhood of Rio to a small cooking studio for your evening of hands-on learning. Meet your instructor and small group of no more than seven people to begin your Brazilian culinary adventure. No experience is necessary, and you're bound to learn something new about Brazilian cooking and culture whether you're a novice or an expert chef.

Your group will choose between two traditional Brazilian dishes, a black bean Feijoada or a Bahian seafood Moqueca. Each choice is accompanied by cassava sticks for snacking and two cocktails, a Batida de Coco and and Caipirinha.

Listen as your instructor guides you through the process of making the dish, taking notes if you like. Most of the ingredients used in these dishes can be found all over the world, so you'll be able to recreate them at home.

After the meal is prepared, sit down with your instructor and your new friends to toast your efforts and enjoy the fruits of your labor.

This was one of the most favorite things from my visit to Rio learned a lot about authentic Brazilian Cuisine and once you have that Brazilian Drink named Capriani you want it anymore but from Chef Simone's cooking class. Chef Simone is a delightful soul inside and out. She has a wealth of knowledge about the Brazilian culture and history. this excursion I would say is a MUST!! Do in Rio JANERO.... The way she taught was great she was funny very informative and the meal that we prepared with our own hands we got to eat absolutely delicious. I would give it more than five stars if I could.
Engaging Fun Class

Cristiano was a great host. With his context on the history of Brazilian food culture, it was very fun to hear where ingredients came from and how they are used. He let us do all of the cooking while he told us stories and anecdotes. The moqueca was delicious and the drinks we made were great. He even added his own touch to a dessert recipe which was fun. Great experience.

This was a phenomenal day!! We learned how to cook Feijoada a classic Brasilian dish. Chef Simone was exceptional and shared some of her secrets with us. The great thing about this class is that it is truly hands on. You're not sitting in an audience taking notes but rather are working side by side with Chef Simone who is giving you tips on how to perfect your skills. Our day started at 11AM. We learned not only how to cook Feijoada but also cooked all the sides. These included rice, fresh collard greens, fried bananas and orange slices. The combination of flavors was extraordinary. Additionally it looked extremely appealing all plated up. A lunch I could have every day. As one of our appetizers, we learned how to cook linguiça calabresa another classic Brasilian dish, simply served with some fried onions, some green peppers and a few spices . To accompany the calabresa Chef Simone shared one of her secret recipes with us which was her special hot sauce made from malagueta peppers. That alone could have been the meal. Another appetizer was fried cheese also accompanied by a special spicy sauce. Of course we also learned how to make a Caipirinha the Brasilian drink of choice mandatory with feijoada. It was the classic recipe with limes and a delicious Cachaca. This was an absolutely great day and one we would do again on our next visit to Rio. We highly recommend this treat if you have the time. Thanks Chef Simone

Simone's class was wonderful. We had a great time and learned a lot. The only thing I wish was that we had taken it sooner in our trip so we could have gone to all the local restaurants she recommended. I would definitely recommend this class.
